GREECE: Grand Resort Lagonissi Athens, Greece

Grand Resort LagonissiThe 5-Star Grand Resort Lagonissi in Athens, Greece is a luxury resort with top-notch event facilities. A member of The Leading Hotels of the World, the Resort sits on a 72-acre peninsula on the Aegean Sea. RUSSIA: Renaissance Moscow Monarch Center

Marriott HotelsMarriott is opening a 366 guest room Renaissance property in Moscow in February 2010. The Renaissance Moscow Monarch Center, Marriott’s seventh property in Moscow, will be located near Dinamo Stadium in a mixed-use development complex that includes a separate office tower and a large shopping center.
Event facilities will comprise 1,997 sqm/21,500 sqft of space with a ballroom measuring 567 sqm/6,100 sqft, a main meeting room that will be divisible into two sections, seven meeting rooms and two boardrooms. Additional facilities will include an executive floor with private lounge, a casual restaurant and a specialty restaurant, lobby bar, health and leisure club and a swimming pool.

DENMARK: Copenhagen’s Congress Center

Tivoli Congress CenterThe Tivoli Congress Center, scheduled to open in October 2010, will feature a large Congress Hall with a balcony, 2 auditoria, 14 meeting rooms and 6 board rooms. The multi-function Congress Hall will accommodate 2,500 delegates for conferences, exhibitions, product launches and all types of events. The complex will also house a state-of-art business center, gourmet restaurant and the ‘Sky Bar,’ which will be located on the 12th floor of the building, offering views of the waterfront.
The Tivoli Hotel will open in the summer of 2010 directly adjacent to the Congress Center. The 402 guest room property will cater to both business and leisure travelers and include a fully equipped gym, sauna and swimming pool. Tivoli Congress Center and the Tivoli Hotel have an alliance with Tivoli Gardens and shuttle buses will operate between the hotel and Tivoli Gardens.

TUNESIA: Mövenpick Resort & Thalasso Sousse to Open July 2009

MoevenpickMövenpick Hotels & Resorts will manage a new beachside development, the Mövenpick Resort & Thalasso Sousse. The new 627 guest room property is located on the Mediterranean coastline in the port city of Sousse in Tunisia.
Event facilities will comprise a large conference and banquet hall that accommodates 800 attendees and three executive boardrooms fitted with state-of-the-art equipment. 
The resort will comprise six restaurants and five bars. The Thalasso Center will have an indoor seawater swimming pool and a health and fitness center offering a wide selection of treatments within its 40 specialized rooms. Additional sports and entertainment amenities will include tennis courts, animation programs and a lifestyle venue with nightclub.
Sousse is located some 130 km/81 miles south of Tunis and Monastir International Airport is a 20-minute drive. North Africa's largest international airport is due to open in Enfidah, just 30 minutes from Sousse, in November 2009.

SYRIA: 5-Star Dedeman Damascus

Dedeman DamascusThe 5-Star Dedeman Damascus which was formerly a Le Meridien property reopened its doors on 1st January 2009. The hotel is situated in the city’s diplomatic area and features 370 guest rooms, all with balconies facing either Kassioun Mountain or the city’s business district. The Dedeman Damascus has seven meeting rooms that will accommodate up to 1,200 attendees. For dining and relaxation, there are seven restaurants (some seasonal), a bar and a discotheque. Al Liwan restaurant serves Asian cuisine with belly dancers for entertainment and the Al Menchieh serves traditional fare such as falafel and shawerma during summer months. The hotel also offers spa services and has an outdoor pool. The Dedeman Damascus sits at the edge of the museum district near the historical part of Old Damascus with the ancient city just steps away from the front door.

In The Air
Air Berlin’s New Routes

Air BerlinAir Berlin, Germany’s second largest airline is launching two new routes this month. Service to Oslo begins on 24 April and service to Kradow on 25 April. Both services originate in Berlin. The Oslo service will depart from Berlin Tegel five times a week, operating Monday though Friday. Krakow service, which also departs from Berlin Tegel, will operate four times weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
On 1 May, Air Berlin will begin flying from Hanover, Germany to Stockholm, Sweden and service will be re-launched between Stuttgart and Nice.
Air Berlin is increasing its New York JFK service from four flights weekly to daily service starting in May.
